East Haddam, Connecticut - 11/16/17 - KT, also know as Booker the Pine Marten, sits for a portrait in Two Wrasslin' Cats Cafe in East Haddam, Connecticut, November 6, 2017. KT has been involved in the Furry community since 2009 when a friend introduced her to the fandom of people who like anthropomorphic animals as a place to have fun and meet friends and try to do really positive stuff, as KT describes. She says that while she has played many important roles in the community from doing charity work to working at Furry conventions, she is currently in a transition phase of her life and while the Furry world may be the most stable part of it, it is not something she has to do - but rather chooses to do. KT says "I feel like I have to do it in the same way I have to read a book or watch the newest 'Orange Is The New Black episode'" and compares it to other people's desire to wear makeup. KT, who is currently an artist, sees herself pursuing a Phd in neuro-ethics, where she would dive deeper into academia, or pursue her interest in animation in the future. (Monica Jorge)

New Haven, CT - 12/9/17 - Sabir Abdussabur, also known as the "Masked Maniac" stands for a portrait before continuing his late night patrol through downtown New Haven, Connecticut, December 9, 2017. Sabir's group of 4 cyclists wear masks to create a sense of uniform anonymity, believing the action of their patrol is more important than the person behind the mask. Their goal is to create an awareness of cyclists for drivers in high traffic areas in their urban community so that they can ride their bikes with comfort on the street, per their legal right.
